PROMO’s Board of Directors has proposed important revisions to PROMO’s current bylaws. This proposal will be voted on by our voting membership in May. We want to take the opportunity at the monthly meetings to explain these changes. We hope you can attend and look forward to your feedback.
In order to be eligible to vote on the proposed bylaw changes you must be current on your membership dues and have signed a voting member form as of April 30th. Pay your dues and download a voting member form from the PROMO website: www.promoonline.org/Join.html. Voting member forms will also be available at the monthly meetings. The form includes PROMO’s current Statement of Purpose and below are the changes as proposed by the PROMO Board of Directors.
You may also be receiving a mailing from a group of St. Louis PROMO members who are opposed to the bylaw change. Under Missouri law, voting members are entitled to access the entire voting member list. Please understand this is not a mailing from PROMO.
The Board of Directors and I are all in favor of these are extremely important changes. They will help clarify PROMO’s Statement of Purpose and solidify the organization as the statewide leader on LGBT equality. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Hope to see you at a monthly meeting!
Together in Equality,
Julie
