Health and Fitness – Award-Worth Films: The Wellness Edition

The curtain has dropped on the 2017 Academy Awards, but those amazing flicks still have us buzzing. Here is my annual wellness homage to all the best picture nominees.

When 12 mysterious pounds appear around your waistline, you might need an expert to help you find out what the problem is. It’s OK to welcome the arrival of a fitness trainer or nutritionist to help you understand the situation and get back to being healthy.

You are never too old to get into better shape. Don’t let those years of being overweight make you bitter. Mend the fences of frustration between yesterday and today. You still have the chance to knock it out of the park.

If you have objections to how Western medicine does things, get out the hacksaw and cut away those pharmaceutical shackles. Use naturopathic medicine instead, if you’d like. You can still win the battle by doing it your way.

You and your friends have succeeded in your diets, but you all would like to be more toned before stepping into your summer swimsuits. You could just cover up those bodies and take your hidden figures to the pool. Then with some extra cardio exercise, you could keep moving toward your ambitious goals.

When you dream big, you might just get your heart broken or have your hopes crushed. But the healthiest thing you can do at a time like that is dust yourself off and keep going. Keep acting like a winner and making sweet music on your journey to the land of well-being.

Life throws obstacles at us, and it’s easy to get lost amid all the challenges. Take a trip back to the moment when you lost your way, and gain an understanding of what happened. We all have the ability to roar. We simply forget that each of us is a lion.

Change can be scary. After struggling with PTSD and depression, you are working to find health again by leaving behind your irritable solitary ways. On the way to this new place, you will revisit your trauma and you will grow. Then you can move on with that healthy life you’ve always imagined by the sea.

Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves, said the wise Confucius. You might be angry at the world for foreclosing on your dreams, but don’t let that rob you of all that makes you good. Come hell or high water, you can still make the right decision when you’re at a crossroads in your life.

Smoking has been part of your days for so many years. From childhood to adulthood, it has been a constant. Through self-discovery, see if you can connect to a place of wellness. Find out why you smoke and what you want out of life. Let the moonlight shine on you tonight without the glow of a cigarette.

What a year it was at the movies in 2016. Thanks for letting me share my lighthearted Academy Awards wellness edition with you again this year. A toast to the silver screen and your health!
